What JoinCal does
Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your JoinCal account credentials secure.
- You must be at least 16 years old to use JoinCal.
- You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
- One person may not operate multiple free accounts to circumvent plan limits.
Connected accounts and OAuth
- When you connect a third-party calendar account, you authorise JoinCal to access it on your behalf using OAuth. You can revoke this access at any time — in JoinCal, or directly in your Google / Microsoft account settings.
- Revoking a connection deletes all synced data from JoinCal for that account.
- JoinCal requests only the minimum permissions needed for the features you use. Read-write access is requested only when you explicitly enable event creation features.
Sharing and permissions
- You control who can access your calendars and at what permission level (free/busy, titles only, or full details).
- You are responsible for the sharing decisions you make. JoinCal enforces the permissions you configure but cannot prevent recipients from manually recording or sharing information they are able to view.
- You must not share calendars in a way that violates any third party's privacy rights or your organisation's data policies.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use JoinCal to collect, aggregate, or republish other people's calendar data without their consent.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or authentication mechanisms.
- Use JoinCal to transmit spam, malware, or illegal content.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract JoinCal's source code.
- Use automated tools to scrape or excessively query JoinCal's APIs.
Subscription and billing
JoinCal offers a free tier and paid plans. Paid plans are billed monthly or annually. By subscribing to a paid plan:
- You authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
- You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — no refunds are issued for partial periods.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not apply to your current subscription period.
Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Calendar sync depends on third-party provider APIs (Google, Microsoft, etc.) which may be unavailable, rate-limited, or change without notice. JoinCal is not liable for loss of data or missed events due to provider outages or API changes.
Intellectual property
JoinCal and its logo are trademarks of JoinCal. Your calendar data remains yours — we claim no ownership over it. You grant JoinCal a limited licence to access, store, and process your calendar data solely to provide the service.
Termination
- You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.
- On termination, your data is deleted within 30 days except where retention is required by law.
Disclaimer of warranties
JoinCal is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, JoinCal's total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to JoinCal in the 12 months preceding the claim. JoinCal is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
